Whole Wheat Penne Pasta with Chicken & Vegetables

6 boneless, skinless, chicken breast
1 pound whole wheat penne pasta
1 medium onion – chopped
2 cups mushroom – sliced
2 cups broccoli florets
1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
2 table spoons chopped garlic
1 table spoon dried basil or fresh
1 table spoon italian seasoning
2 table spoons olive oil
Pre-heat oven 400 degrees.
Spray baking dish with olive oil spray. Place chicken in baking dish, salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Bake chicken for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Place pot on medium high heat. Add olive oil, and saute onions and mushrooms, till onions are translucent. Add chopped garlic. Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Sprinkle in basil and add salt and pepper to taste. Right at the end add broccoli florets.
Remove chicken from oven and dice or slice. Place in a bowl and set aside.
Cook pasta according to box directions and drain.
Add diced chicken and pasta to sauce, mix well.
